Midnight is a handsome, 2 year old, Black Gelding of 14.1 hands. We rescued him from an abusive trainer, who unknowingly sold him for slaughter. Midnight's a little shy because of the abuse he experienced in the past, but is beginning to exhibit more and more personality as we are able to earn his trust and respect with appropriate care and lots of love.
Kali is a beautiful 10 year old, Spanish Mustang, Bay Mare of approximately 14.2 hands. She was headed for slaughter and rescued from the sale barn. Kali has been with us for about 2 years. She yearns to be free and continues to have difficulty adjusting to domestic life.
Cherokee is a sweet, 8 year old, Dark Brown Gelding of 14.3 hands, who was born wild in California. He has scars over his nose where a halter was left on too long and became embedded in his face as he grew. He's very friendly and loves children. Cherokee's looking for a wonderful home with somebody who will give him lots of love.
Jewell is a darling, 9 year old Grey Mare. She was rescued from a dude string. Her her sides were so sore from girth sores that she would not let anyone touch her. Jewell was diagnosed with kidney disease and given only 4 years to live. She has been with us for 3 years on pasture and appears to have fully recovered from her kidney problems. Jewell loves hugs and kisses and thrives on love and attention. This jewel is now looking for a loving home.
Cloud Dancer is a showy Bay Pinto Stallion, who came to us from the Navajo Indian Nation. He was donated to us by a young couple, who wanted to ensure he got a good home. At 10 months old, Cloud Dancer is energetic and exhibits lots of enthusiasm for life. He's assertive and already possesses the characteristics of a future leader.
Rowan is a wild and beautiful, 7 year old Bay Mare of 15.2 hands. Rowan was owned by an English couple, who named her after a wild flower found in England. She is as unwilling to be domesticated as she is beautiful. Yet, she takes treats out of our hands. We are looking for a "Horse Whisperer" who wants the challenge of properly gentling Rowan.
Athena is an 8 year old Bay Mare named after the Goddess of Wisdom. She was born wild in Oregon, weighs approximately 1,100 pounds and is 15.3 hands. The day after Athena's first adoption, she was put into training for 4 days in a round pen, where she was worked 8 hours every day and she never gave in an inch. This treatment created a hatred for humans because of the lack of understanding of her nobility and her spirit. These owners gave her up to her second home which was even worse. However, after 2 years of tender loving care and daily assurances that she can trust us, she is beginning to recognize that not all humans are representative of those she has known in the past. Now, she whinnies to us when she sees us and takes treats from our hands.

Help Save the Virginia Range Herd!

The Cheyenne River Sioux are at risk of losing 22,000 acres of their tribal land. As a result the tribe is having to lease their Tribal Park for cattle grazing to raise money, sold most of their buffalo, and have turned about 300 head of Virginia Range mustangs over to ISPMB. These horses need alternative habitat right away. You can help!
